Log Strip generator is being updated

The ability to generate log strips quickly from the raw data is one C-Master's most used features. However, if you wanted to put the output to a different device (i.e. Laser Printer versus dot-matrix, or AutoCAD versus JPG), you had to re-select the all of the logs you plotted previously. This is not efficient for the user. With a simple edit of the command file that generated the original strip logs, you can re-direct the output.

Starting with V8.3.0, you can edit the command file and add to the end of each LOGPLOT the device number of the new target. For example, to force a PDF file to be generated, add the text " 13" to the end of each LOGPLOT line.

There are some limitations, though. If you had originally selected PDF output as 42" wide (for a plotter), then ask that a BMP file be generated, it may fail to be properly generated. This is because the limitations of devices are different, and the user can set limits for one output style that are incompatible with other output styles.

Still, you may find this feature useful. One direct advantage would be to generate a set of one-log-per-strip JPG files, then by editing the command file, create an identical set of AutoCAD compatible files.
