Cross-sections

C-Master has the capability to generate DXF (and PDF) compatible file of full logs (or selected portions of logs) and position these logs relative to each other horizontally and vertically.

When generating strip logs, there is an option to do a cross section that will show if you are generating either PDF or DXF files. There is a limit of 50 logs when you perform a cross-section in this manner.

To assist in selecting logs, you can define a "strike line" between two coordinates whose width is also user-definable. This creates a rectangular box that can be used to filter logs selections so only those logs that fall within the defined box are selected.

Once your logs have been selected and you are ready to generate the cross section, you can make choices on how you wish to have the data presented.

You can choose the horizontal spacingĀ  as none (present each log with standard spacing in a line from left to right), using a strike line (and spacing the logs relative to their position along the strike line), or simply using the distance between the logs (in the order selected).

Vertically can be no vertical change (i.e. all logs shown at the same vertical position), fixed to a specific elevation, relative to each other based on their actual collar elevation, or have a search performed on seam tags within the logs (looking for a specific bed code/qualifier to establish a horizon and position the logs relative to this tag). For this last option, only logs containing the tag will have strips generated.

You can save the parameters of the search (and a list of selected logs) in a text file for later review and/or documentation.
