Feature Requests

The following features have been requested/added to C-Master since the 32-bit transport began in October 2014. If a feature is struck out, it has been implemented and tested.

  • CIMPORT_F95: Allow selection of files to import using a text file generated by CCATALOG.
    • This feature has also been added to log strip generation, and projects and processing
  • Support multiple coordinate datums.
    • Implemented support for NAD27 and NAD83 in the Continental USA.
    • WGS84 is supported for the remainder of the world.
  • Allow log plot (strip log) production in a 32-bit environment
    • Implemented as a direct file write to the appropriate driver (defined as “Generic”), or by writing a file that can be sent to the printer. May require ADMIN access to the computer to set permissions on the target directory to permit the direct write of the file.
    • Implemented using a SPOOL’er program that can write directly to the Generic driver if ADMIN privilege cannot be used (this is the preferred method)
  • Ability to delete a single log or group of logs from the catalog
    • When the data coming in has significant problems, eliminate the “damaged logs” by deleting from the Master Catalog of all logs. This is to be done carefully!
  • CSV Import/Export of data to/from C-Master for use in other programs
    • Import is allowed for both C-Master formatted logs and CSV/Tab delimited data
    • Export data in CSV/Tab delimited format
    • Ability to perform a “translation” of the data from one form to another to meet the other program’s requirements
      • This ability exists for both Import and Export functions
  • Ability to see a list of lithologies, including thickness and depth in real time
  • Ability to update reference files “on the fly”, rather than having to stop and add.
  • Ability to link an external object to a log or a lithology within the log
    • Lithology: Currently implemented as 2 user fields for each lithology that can contain any text data you might desire (file paths, URL’s, etc.)
    • Log header: Two user data fields (text) for any kind of data you might want
  • C-Master on a tablet for field entry
    • Capability already exists. No special implementation needed. Min 1024×768 resolution is required. This has not been verified for the Windows-only version (in development)
  • Capability to add a colored background to a log strip based on the lithology code (ACAD and PDF)
  • Process “Scout Records” (Scout Tickets) in their native form for use in C-Master
  • Place Log Strips in a PDF at varying vertical positions based on their top of hole elevation
